  • Univerzita Karlova, Matematicko-fyzikální fakulta, Informatická sekce

To determine authorship, contemporary stylometry uses a wide range of textual features: frequency of character n-grams, words, punctuation marks ... However, one important area of poetic texts remains overlooked - versology. The lecture will focus on the extent to which the characteristics of verse and rhymes can be used to determine authorship. The lecturer will then present specific applications of versological attribution to controversial texts attributed to W. Shakespeare and G. Batěnkov.

The lecture takes place in person (IFF UK, Malostranské nám. 25, 4th floor, room S1) and will also be streamed via the Zoom platform. To obtain access data for connection to the online stream, please contact us at sevcikova@ufal.mff.cuni.cz
