Publication of the first book on Digital humanities in the Czech environment
The publication Digital Turn in the Czech Humanities and Social Sciences has been published, documenting the innovations that the Computational turn has brought to the work of Czech social science and humanities scholars. It is the first publication to map interesting projects, research and practice of researchers in this field in the Czech environment.
Some of the chapters deal with new digital phenomena and their implications for a wide range of issues that the social sciences and humanities must address. The empirically-oriented chapters then introduce the reader to particular phenomena in a traditional disciplinary perspective and then demonstrate the application of digital techniques that can be used to grasp the field under study through computer analysis. The book is also intended for readers who have no prior knowledge of programming and specialist digital applications but who want to learn about the ways in which society and culture can be explored using data and computers.
